After being away for 12 years, came to Hugos to reconnect with a friend. Definitely gotta come back to try everything on the menu. From first glance on their specials, I was immediately drawn to their salmon hash, side of fruit and avocado charge. Friend ordered their turkey chili. Matcha and Chai latte indicated in photos too. Parking is street or lot but can be busy si I would suggest circling the block ever so often to snap a spot in the lot. Total for all the vegan/gf food $60ish
I mean I love Hugos. It's very casual diner style hearty portions of healthy meals. Not fancy, relaxed. I enjoyed the vegan "chicken" sandwich today with butternut squash soup, and my husband enjoyed the salmon tacos. Satisfied customers, as on my previous visits.
We were vacationing in the area and also meeting a California Yelp sweetie pie we all adore. I searched on Yelp, because my family's diet restrictions, a safe place for my family to eat. I called ahead, and they were so kind to answer my questions. I knew I could at least enjoy a salad. Luckily, our friend also was a big fan of Hugo's! I was so tickled after arriving and spending more time reading the menu. Almost everything was gluten-free or could be modified to be. Even the appetizers. No gluten goes into their frier. All I had eaten all day was plain lettuce with some plain chicken, so I was starving. One of everything, please! ;) The girls shared the chicken strip appetizer, which came with French fries and a choice of ranch, honey mustard, or marinara sauce. They loved them! My husband had the spring rolls. It is so healthy and delicious with the sauce. My Yelp friend and I both had very green casserole. They come with a delicious plant based burger, but you can substitute with a beef patty if you like. I passed on the cheese. Our girls then had a hamburger and chicken strips. Hubby had a crispy chicken wrap. The flavors of everything were elevated. There is so much flavor. I need to learn how to do this to enhance my cooking. Everything was so good. My husband would have liked the chicken wrap to come with a sauce or dip. They are my favorite place in California so far. Samantha, our waitress was really sweet and patient. They have a free private parking lot, and you can also park along the main road. Hugo's, pretty please open one up in Arizona! Great company and food. So good and safe we went back the next evening. Nom nom nom!
I love that use all high quality ingredients. Most of their items are organic and they don't use seed oils. They use olive oil. They have Himalayan sea salt in their shakers at the table. I ordered a chamomile tea and they used whole flowers in a French press not from a teabag. They have tons of good vegan options! I had the make your own scramble with tofu and veggies. I tried a side of their veggie bacon that they make in house. So good!
Lots of parking , got seared quickly, menu super healthy , lots of choices , server was very friendly and knowledgeable, we order the pan roasted salmon and a breakfast item , a house made lemonade that was delicious, a glass of the house Chardonnay and the half and a half ice tea lemonade that was refreshing and well made. Food came in , amazing presentation, and superb in taste and quality. Not cheap but worthy, all quality ingredients and preparation on the spot . Very clean place , great atmosphere, just realized that there is a Hugo's taqueria across the street , looking forward to check that place out soon . Will be back again
De-Li-Shis!!!!! I must say...Mmmmmm!!!! The food is delicious. Ohhh, and did I mention... the food... The staff was very accommodating and quiet pleasant. The vibe was mellow and very pleasing. I would recommend stopping by and catching a bite. You won't regret it. I will be returning. Enjoy!! #jsho
Good food. I had the Chicken Carciofi. Also the Garlic broccolini on the side. It was good, but needed salt, as they have a no salt policy. The roasted rosemary potatoes were very good. My wife had those and also an order of Broccolini. Our waitress was nice and helpful. Overall, a good experience.
I had heard about Hugo's for a while. So when some friends wanted to meet up there for breakfast, I was more than happy to oblige. We got there right when it opened, around 8 am, but surprisingly, we weren't even the first ones there. Seems like Hugo's has a number of early birds devotees, which was a good sign. The parking lot was much appreciated, considering the area, and we had no problem finding a spot. Our waiter was friendly and attentive throughout. He stopped by several times to refill coffee and water, and just check on us. Good service. Food was pretty good, but a little pricey for what it was. I got the huevos rancheros. It was super filling, and I ended up taking half of it home with me. Some of the other breakfast dishes looked a lot better, so I'd probably order something different next time. There were a lot of rice and beans included on the side, so it's easy to just fill up on those. My husband got the almond energy pancakes and liked them. But he did say it was kind of a lot for a pancake. There are a bunch of different ingredients in there, so they taste pretty unique. Coffee was good. Company was great. Would definitely come back again and try some different dishes for breakfast or lunch.
Hugo's - Studio City, we met again... And this time we're better friends! From 8AM to 9PM daily you can partake in this original one of two (West Hollywood) dining experience. This dietary friendly restaurant is becoming more frequent for me having recently ordered a solid breakfast and even more so recently dined in for dinner with a few good people. We had super amazing service courtesy of of the best servers I've ever had. She went the extra mile to make sure we got our appetizers and food in as we were there closer to close. The menu is amazing with vegan vegetarian and gluten free options times ten... Most things can be made to preference or restriction as well is by default. Chilaquiles and Cinnamon Swirl French Toast for breakfast! The Breakfast Burrito (veganize) is okay... A big thing with eats is relying on natural flavors for food, which some dishes have more than others... You can request salt (noted on the menu). The Potato Pancakes are fun, but the Potatoes, Fried Pickles, Nachos (V) and Spring Rolls are all things I suggest you try with wonderful natural flavor. Having the Nachos with friends was pretty cool although the non-dairy cheese got lost in the mix and wasn't really much compared to other savory toppings. The Vegan Crispy Chicken sandwich was a first for me and I liked it, the bread was a little tougher/extra toaster than I hoped for, but not bad. I haven't had the Veggie Burger (due to a rare allergy), but have heard good things about it as they also offer it at Hugo's Tacos. I could go on about so many things here like the pasta and entrees (Asian Stir Fry - top notch). The drinks are a true highlight with endless beer and wine related choices like mimosas for brunch! Super happy hour with drinks served all day until about 15 minutes or so before close. Enjoy outdoor back patio or indoor + indoor enclosed patio dining... If you know you know lol (see pics of the layout). Restrooms clean and functional! Pet and Wi-Fi friendly - two of my favorite things along with a nice sangria, mangorita, mimosa flight or craft brew. The WeHo spot has a full bar, but Studio City/Sherman Oaks adjacent knows how to get creative with it's wine and some spirit cocktails! Definitely check out their Night Flights (now every night from 4PM to close) - $12 for red, white or a combo of wines. Parking is pretty easy and you can find street parking off Riverside Drive /Coldwater Canyon where this staple location resides, across from the newly remodeled Whole Foods, Hugo's Taco's, Hotel Mariposa and Chevron just off the 101 Fwy ramps for Coldwater Cyn. Don't forget dessert to go, especially those incredible Chocolate Chip Cookies which are out of this world. Q Tip: Many of the dips and sauces are non-dairy/vegan friendly as well [Great allergen breakdown on their website] Initially avoided the ranch with our appetizer because I wasn't sure, but now I know!
